C1780-1810 flintlock fowler

Single barrel flintlock fowler. 33" barrel of about .75 caliber. Unmarked. Metal parts show medium patina overall with scattered pitting in the barrel breech area. Barrel has a small ding about 6" from muzzle on right side. Stock good, has a unusual takedown feature in the forearm, which has metal pieces separating the sections of stock, and provisions for barrel keys for both sections of forearms. Stock is well worn with two small pieces missing, one by rear barrel key and a sliver missing by nosecap on left side. Stock also shows several cracks, two small cracks by lock screws, two cracks extending from front of triggerguard, stress crack in lower lock mortise from mainspring, a crack by rear barrel key, and a small crack behind ramrod ferule. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
