C1750-80 American assembled percussion conversion fowling piece. The stock is American in origin, the lock likely British, barrel appears to show a French proof, ramrod pipes American, buttplate possibly English, and the triggerguard a really neat awkward American imitation of English engraving. 38-1/2" barrel. Lock marked T.LANE. Metal parts have medium to dark patina overall with a little pitting in the barrel breech. Stock is well worn and shows a light refinish, has two interesting old leather thongs holding it to the barrel. Missing several slivers from the forearm edge, and has a nonstructural crack in the top of the wrist. Missing sideplate, ramrod, and one lock screw. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
