J.P.Moore's Sons, New York, Enfield rifled musket

Moore-Enfield rifled musket. Flayderman 9B-034. Made J.P.Moore's Sons, New York of imported metal parts in 1861-63. Dated 1863 on lock. Metal parts have attractive dark patina overall with a little pitting in the breech area. Stock is very good, free of cracks, showing light wear with scattered minor marks and a couple scratches in the butt. Initials "JP" lightly carved in right side of butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
