M1816 flintlock musket, unmarked lock, marked barrel with date of 1839

M1816 flintlock musket. Lock unmarked, barrel has v, p, eagle proofs and date of 1839. Metal parts have a light brown patina, and show little use and little, if any pitting. Stock is cartouched opposite lock and near buttplate tang, which is marked US. Stock doesn't show much use, but has numerous light handling marks. Lower barrel band spring is a replacement, and there is some slivering and a piece of wood missing by upper barrel band. Mechanically good, except hammer releases from half cock when the trigger is pulled. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
