M1863 Springfield Type I musket, dated 1863 on lock. Metal parts show dark patina with scattered pitting. Well marked lock. Stock is good and solid, showing scattered marks from handling, a minor crack behind the lock, a small crack by rear lock screw, and three screw holes on left side of stock, two in the wrist area, one by middle barrel band. Missing upper sling swivel, and ramrod may be replaced. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
