M1795 Springfield Type III percussion musket. Lock markings present with matching dates of 1814, excellent barrel proofs, and about the best stock cartouche we have encountered. Metal parts have an untouched chocolate patina with some pitting on the lockplate and barrel breech. Missing sling swivels. Stock is very good to fine, showing even average wear and use with a small chip by the rear of the lock and barrel tang, and a tiny crack by the lock screw. Overall above average condition in a generally hard-used model. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
