M1795 Springfield Type II musket, dated 1807 on lock and buttplate. Nicely marked overall. 44" barrel. Converted to percussion with drum and nipple method. Metal parts are mostly a medium patina with a little pitting in the barrel breech area. Missing sling swivels. Stock is very good, showing average wear and use overall, may have been lightly cleaned, shows relatively few handling marks, with initials DE in dots in the butt and a few minor edge slivers. Overall a nice clean second type, getting hard to find. Mechanically good, cocking notches show some wear and sometimes do not hold properly. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
