rare Rifled M1816 US Springfield percussion musket. Dated 1826 on lock and barrel tang. Nicely marked metal parts and cartouches in stock. Metal parts were cleaned, showing some pitting in the breech area but generally smooth. Stock is very good overall, may have been lightly cleaned with added dark finish, showing some chipping in the ramrod channel but free of major problems. Has original cupped tip ramrod. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
