M1842 Springfield musket, dated 1848 on lock. 33-1/2" shortened barrel. Metal parts have untouched dark patina mixing with light rust and scattered pitting. Stock shows average wear with one crack in the forearm. Missing ramrod and sling swivel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
