Early model Merwin Hulburt & Co large frame 44 caliber single action revolver. Flayderman 8A-077. Serial number 5302. Exact chambering unknown. 7" barrel marked on top "MERWIN HULBURT & Co. New York, U.S.A.Pat.Jan.24.Apr.21.Dec.15.74.Aug.3.75.July.11.76.Apr.17.77.Pat's.Mar.6.77." and on side of barrel "THE HOPKINS & ALLEN Manufacturing Co. Norwich. Conn. U.S.A.". Metal parts have a medium to dark brown colored rust patina overall with a little scattered pitting. Hard rubber grips are fine, showing average use, free of chips with one hairline crack on right side noticeable under close inspection. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
