C1780 French flintlock belt pistol. 6-1/2" barrel, about 11-1/2" overall, about .52 caliber bore. Marked on lock with Paris maker. Metal parts have a mottled patina overall with minor granularness. Stock is nicely carved, showing light wear, missing a large piece of the forearm and a long sliver in the lock mortise. Has spring tension on hammer, but does not function mechanically. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
