French Mle1866 Chassepot cadet size needlefire rifle

Rare French M1866 Chassepot pattern cadet size rifle. Serial number 85572 on bolt, 27029 on stock, military proofs throughout. Metal parts are clean with light to medium mottled patina and a little scattered pitting, mostly on the buttplate. Stock is fine, showing little use with a few moderate dings from handling. Sharp number and proof in butt. Matching number cleaning rod. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
