French Mle1866 Chassepot needlefire rifle, scarce Kynochs Patent

M1866 Chassepot rifle, scarce Kynoch's patent. Serial number 5386, one bolt part is mismatched. Marked on receiver flat "KYNOCH'S - PATENT" and on top of barrel "KYNOCH - GUN - FACTORY - ASTON/MUSKET - 43 - 77 - 68". Metal parts have medium patina overall with scattered light rust. Missing cleaning rod. If a rear sight was ever present, it has been gone for a very long time, as the barrel shows no evidence of one having been installed. Stock shows average wear with scattered moderate handling marks, has a couple minor slivers in ramrod channel and a hairline crack behind the receiver tang. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
