C1820-40 percussion Kentucky rifle. Unmarked. 35-1/2" octagon barrel, with bore of about .50 caliber. Metal parts were cleaned at one time, and have repatinated somewhat. Lock is probably a replacement, as the fit isn't perfect, with some wood dough at back of lock. Stock is good, with an attractive striped grain, has a crack by the middle barrel key and some missing slivers along the forearm edge. Has some wood dough in the toe of the butt, above the front of the lock, in a sliver above the middle barrel key, and a large patch on left side of forearm at muzzle. Patchbox could use adjustment, sometimes it flips open. Lock has spring tension, but hammer does not cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
