very rare Marlin M1888 lever action rifle. Only 23 produced with part octagon/part round barrel according to Flayderman 5D-023. 44-40 caliber. Barrel shortened to about 22-7/8". Barrel has about 60% thinned original blue, frame and lever have about 30% original blue, but with a stronger brightness. Has sling swivel studs, but no sling swivels. Stocks are very good, showing average wear with minor marks, free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
