Springfield M1870 US Navy rolling block rifle. Type with sabre bayonet lug on underside of barrel. Metal parts are well worn showing dark patina overall and granular scattered pitting. Stock is well worn with some age cracking in the butt, and a long crack from upper frame tang, repaired long ago and showing some looseness of butt-to-frame. Rear sight is missing the elevator. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
