Van Wart Son & Co, as marked on locks, percussion double barrel shotgun. Also marked "LONDON" on barrel rib. 32" barrels of average bore size, overall construction slightly heavier than average. A medium grade gun that shows a good deal of wear. Iron parts have medium to dark patina overall with minimal pitting in the breech area. Triggerguard is a modern replacement that was finished poorly and fits poorly and was glued in. Stock is good, showing a good deal of wear and has a crack in the left side of the fore stock in front of the lock that appears free of movement. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
