Springfield M1881 "Forager" trapdoor shotgun. Original configuration with 1881 dated breechblock, 1873 dated lock, and stock with plugged ramrod channel, made from a musket stock. Worn condition overall with brown rust patina on worn metal parts. Stock shows average wear and use overall with good patina, a small crack by the lock screw and scattered marks from handling overall. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
