Joslyn M1864 cartridge cavalry carbine. Serial number 1569. 22" round barrel. Breech block converted to centerfire configuration. Standard marking on lock. Metal parts have a dark rust patina overall that has not been cleaned. Saddle ring bar was removed long ago, mounting plate remains. Stock is good, shows honest wear but retains good edges, shows some impressions and scratches from handling and a grain crack at the buttplate. Mechanically good, though hammer doesn't appear to strike firing pin. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
