R.F.Sedgley Remington Rolling Block conversion carbine - $650.00

Please click the image for a larger version
Remington Rolling Block conversion carbine, possibly by R.F.Sedgley, evidenced by the "(S)" marking on the barrel forward of the rear sight. Bore of about 0.30-0.31" and exact chambering is unknown. 23-9/16" round barrel wears a M1898 Krag rear sight and M1903 front sight. 3-line Remington frame tang marking. US marked buttplate. Metal parts are nicely blued with some wear on the edges and some scratches on the marking. Stocks are nicely finished into carbine configuration, has a small crack in the right forearm edge near the tip, and a small area of vertical scratches in the left side of the butt. Action is mechanically good including a safety that lowers the hammer when the block is opened. Since this may be a smokeless chambering on a black powder frame built almost a century ago, extreme caution and professional guidance should be sought if considering firing this arm. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
