Early percussion American longfowler. 52-1/2" round barrel with bore of about .70", no proofs apparent, appears to be from an earlier gun, evidenced by the rudimentary "wedding band" separator 8" forward of breech and blade front sight placed 4" back from muzzle. Lock marked "WARRANTED" with simple decorations. Triggerguard is from an earlier gun of Dutch-Germanic influence, and the buttplate could be earlier American with a small casting void apparent. All parts have an attractive untouched patina with some pitting in the barrel breech. Nice brass-tipped ramrod with a long cleaning worn on the other end. Stock is in very good condition with an attractive patina, a small chip noted by the buttplate, but otherwise free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good except does not have half cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
