C1820-20 J & C Barstow, Exeter, NH militia fusil. 36" round musket barrel of about .55 caliber bore. Lock marked "JCB", believed to be for the Barstow partners. No other markings present. Iron mounted, metal parts have a salt-and-pepper appearance with light pitting. Appears to be original flintlock with external lock parts missing other than the cock minus the top jaw and screw (screw is broken off). Stock is nicely grained with a wide striped character, appears uncleaned, showing expected scattered minor handling marks, small crack by rear lock screw, and small chip by one of the stock pins. Original pewter tipped ramrod has loose tip. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
