M1808 contract flintlock musket. Massachusetts proofs on barrel with date of 1814. 44-1/2" barrel. Lock, screws, ramrod, and sling swivels are absent. Metal parts are lightly cleaned with some pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock is good, showing average wear and use overall with some minor chips to the lock mortise and barrel tang, crack between lock and barrel tang and below the lock, showing some slivers in the forearm edges. The buttstock comb was shaved down during the period of use. A nice musket that is worthy of being completed. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
