M1817 Artillery style short musket - $1250.00

M1817 Artillery style short musket. 35-1/2" barrel proofed at breech. Only other marking is "C.DIX" in small letters behind the triggerguard. Even band spacing indicates this musket is at the original length. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some light pitting on the lock and barrel breech. Sling swivels are absent, top cock jaw and screw are period replacements. Stock shows wear from use, may have been lightly cleaned, has a crack opposite the lock, small chip in lock mortise, and some worn slivering to the ramrod channel edges. Tumbler feels worn but action still works. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
