SOLD - Above average condition M1842 Springfield musket. Dated 1846 on lock and barrel. Well marked including barrel date. Stock nicely cartouched twice opposite lock. Metal parts are free of pitting with light uncleaned surface rust. Stock has nice edges and an open grain character, may have had some light oil added, has some light marks and a couple moderate marks from handling and storage. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
