Percussion militia musketoon. Marked on trade lock "R.HYSLOP/NEW YORK", who operated from 1825-50. 28-5/8" round barrel of about .69 caliber bore. Metal parts are a dark patina except the lock, which was cleaned. There is some pitting present on the lock and barrel breech area. Walnut full stock is good, having a dark coloration, some dings to the buttstock comb, small crack by rear lock screw, some erosion from powder burn near the drum, and some minor chipping to the ramrod channel edge. Originally had a front barrel band, which is now absent. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
