Springfield M1795 Type II percussion conversion musket, dated 1808 on lock and buttplate. Metal parts are mostly a medium to dark patina with some light rust on barrel and lock and lower band partially cleaned. Some pitting is present around the percussion drum. Stock shows a good deal of smooth wear from use, left side of comb skived down as often seen on early muskets. Wood has some expected moderate handling marks, crack above front of sideplate and crack in front of lock. Has a small worn chip behind middle barrel band and some minor chipping to the ramrod channel edges. Sling swivels and ramrod are absent. Lock is internally complete and functioning except missing mainspring. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
