Springfield M1816 Type III percussion conversion musket, dated 1833 on lock and barrel. Some parts are cleaned, some parts have darker patina, parts overall have scattered light pitting. Original length barrel and stock. Lower sling swivel, ramrod, and several screws are absent. Hammer is an antique replacement that needs slight fitting to the tumbler. Upper barrel band is a high quality reproduction that needs some fitting. Stock is good, has inspector initials opposite lock, shows average wear and use with some moderate handling marks and various age checks. The ramrod channel edge is worn down near the muzzle possibly from having been rested while being fired. Internally, lock is missing the mainspring, sear screw is broken off and sear is peened into the bridle and needs a proper screw, bridle screw is absent. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
