Springfield M1835/40 musket, needing lock. Nicely proof barrel dated 1841, stock cartouches are present. Metal parts have an uncleaned appearance, but is definitely reconverted to flintlock, evidenced by the mark on the barrel from having been converted to percussion with the "cone" or "Belgian" method. No ramrod. Stock shows average wear and use overall, has a chip and crack above the rear of the lock mortise, and a small sliver missing from the ramrod channel. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
