Springfield M1842 percussion musket dated 1845 on lock. Other markings are not apparent. Metal parts have a brown patina overall with some scattered pitting. Barrel has a small, worn rear sight mortise but is not a rifled model. Stock is cleaned to smooth surfaces with scattered expected marks from use and handling. There was a crack in the wrist that is well-secured, and the stock has a spice under the lower band that is not at all apparent when the barrel band is in place. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
