Assembled M1855 Springfield Maynard-primed musket. Dated 1858 on lock. Full length barrel bored out to about 0.62" smoothbore. Metal parts have an uneven light to medium brown patina. Incorrect rounded middle band from a M1863/64 type musket, and a reproduction ramrod. Maynard primer system is missing the internal parts to advance a primer roll. Barrel tang screw is absent and triggerguard screws are replaced. Stock is nicely cartouched opposite lock, has nice edges from not having been used heavily, but may have been lightly cleaned, free of cracks with a small chip by the middle barrel band, a couple tiny filled chips in the left side of the forearm, and some minor expected handling marks overall. Hammer functions as intended. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
