Springfield M1863 Type II percussion musket, dated 1864 on lock. Original length stock, original length barrel bored smooth to about 0.62" Metal parts are an uneven medium patina with some cleaned surfaces near the barrel breech showing cleaning. Sling swivels, ramrod, and rear sight leaves. Stock was lightly sanded, has a faint cartouche opposite the lock, has a reattached crack above the rear of the lock, small chip and other dings to the forearm edges, and some light age checking to the buttstock with some minor chipping at heel of butt near buttplate. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
