Springfield M1863 percussion musket. Barrel shortened to 32" long, stock shortened to just in front of lower barrel band. Lock markings are a little weak, but readable with date of 1862. Good barrel proofs. Metal parts are cleaned smooth with an added blue finish and some dings. Rear sight is absent. Stock is refinished with a high gloss, shows some repaired cracks behind the lock and barrel tang. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
