Hammond's patent "Bulldog" single shot .44 rimfire caliber single shot derringer by the Connecticut Arms & Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. Serial number 29. Standard markings on barrel and breech block. Novel action that swings open to the side for loading. Standard 4" barrel. Barrel has strong original blue finish with some tool marks near the breech, frame shows case colors mixing with brown patina and some dings. Hard rubber grips are fine, free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
