Hammond's patent "Bulldog" single shot .44 rimfire caliber single shot derringer by the Connecticut Arms & Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. Serial number 24. Standard markings on barrel and breech block. Novel action that swings open to the side for loading. Standard 4" barrel. Metal parts have some original blue finish on the barrel with some patches of pitting, and a brown patina with some case color visible on the frame and breech block. Hard rubber grips are good, free of cracks with some little "flea bites" around the edges on the butt and the half moon on the frame. Hammer has spring tension but binds and doesn't pull pack fully, breech block does not open all the way. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
