Merwin Hulburt .38 caliber single action spur trigger pocket revolver. Variation not listed in Flayderman's Guide that is a cross between 8A-084.5 and 8A-088, having the 5-shot cylinder of the former, but square butt and external arbor of the latter. Serial number 6639 on barrel, cylinder, and frame under grip. 3-3/8" round ribbed barrel. Similar novel design for loading and extracting. Has Merwin marking on left side of frame and Hopkins & Allen mark on top of barrel rib. Metal parts have about 50% original nickel finish mixing with dark patina. Hard rubber grips are very good, showing average wear and use with some minor handling marks, but free of cracks and chips. Action functions, but has some looseness to it. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
