Spanish copy of a late model large frame Merwin Hulbert single action revolver with frame top strap. Very faithful antique recreation of the original, only made apparent by the markings. Marked on top of barrel "REVOLVERS SISTEM MERWIN HULBERT PAT.15 NOV 81 PAT SEP 19 83.", on side of barrel "ANITUA Y CHAROLA Manufacturers of Fire Arms", and on side of frame "CALIBRE WINCHESTER 1873" for .44-40 caliber. Metal parts are mostly a medium gray patina with scattered light pitting and some traces of original nickel finish. Loading gate, lanyard ring, a screw, and one escutcheon from the grip screw are absent. Wood grips are worn with some period checkering, has some minor worn corner nicks. Action tries to work but binds when the cylinder doesn't want to revolve, and action overall doesn't feel confident. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
