Whitney ring trigger "walking beam" .32 rimfire pocket revolver. Flayderman 5J-091. Scarce gun in original configuration but especially rare as a cartridge conversion. "ADDRESS E.WHITNEY/WHITNEYVILLE CT" with partially struck patent marking on left side of frame. Originally made to circumvent Colt's patent for an automatic revolving cylinder, he ring trigger was worked forward and back to rotate the cylinder, the hammer was then cocked manually, and the ring pulled back the rest of the way to drop the hammer. 4" octagon barrel. Appearance of metal parts are a speckled light/medium gray with scattered pitting. Wood grips show worn original varnish with a couple minuscule corner nicks and scattered minor handling marks. Hammer has spring tension but does not cock, ring moves but doesn't revolve the cylinder. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
