European copy of a Colt M1873 Single Action Army revolver. Caliber marked 44 on frame, centerfire position hammer, cylinder 1.57" long, chambers 0.48" rear and 0.44" front. 4-11/16" long round barrel. Barrel is shortened, partial marking visible "VER CARATE & SON Manufacturers". Gun was originally equipped with an extractor rod mounted on the right side. Metal parts are worn gray surfaces with light to medium pitting. Butt has a hole for a lanyard loop. Wood grips are well worn and smooth with added varnish finish. Does not function mechanically. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
