M1836 US pistol by A. Waters, 1838. Has additional unknown little cartouche marking forward of the maker marking. Percussion conversion using drum and nipple method. Metal parts have an mostly dark brown patina overall with some scattered old uncleaned rust. Ramrod shortened slightly so that it no longer stays "captive" in the swivel. Stock is fair with visible cartouche, shows marks from handling and use, piece of wood missing between lock and barrel tang, some chipping in the lock mortise, a chip by the barrel band, and a crack in the grip. Hammer clicks but does not have mainspring tension. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot. 1838
