early Remington New Model Army .44 caliber revolver with mortised German silver front sight. Serial number 39193. American martially marked for the Civil War with faint grip cartouche and additional sub inspector marks. Following the war, it was exported to the United Kingdom and received Birmingham proof marks on the barrel and cylinder. Maker marking is faint but partly visible. Metal parts have an applied blue finish with slightly matte, granular surfaces. Walnut grips have an added finish with wear primarily to the bottom edge, with a couple worn corner nicks. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
