C1720-50 flintlock horsepistol, possibly Dutch. Signed on lock "PIER FABRI", possibly a relation of Charles Fabri of Maastricht, who made fine firearms in the late 17th century. 12" barrel with octagon breech and two "wedding band" transitions to round, bore about .56 caliber, about 19" overall. Metal parts have a dark uncleaned patina overall with light rust. Nicely shaped iron furnishings with delicate serpentine sideplate. Stock is nicely grained and border carved around furnishings, with fan carvings rear of ramrod ferule and around barrel tang, has additional fancy carvings flanking the barrel tang. Stock is cracked vertically under the lock and sideplate. Horn forearm tip. Cock is loose to tumbler, otherwise lock is operational. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
