Harpers Ferry M1803 percussion conversion US rifle. Lock is well-marked and dated 1819, excellent barrel proofs, stock proofs are present. 36" part octagon, part round barrel that is smoothbore .60 caliber, as usually observed. Brass parts have an attractive light patina, lock and barrel have a brown patina with some old stable light rust. Left side of little brass stock band is absent. Stock has an honestly used and worn appearance with small crack by rear lock screw and a small spot on the belly of the left side of the butt that may have been slivered, but very well worn over. Nice period replacement wooden ramrod. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
