C1820-40 fullstock lightweight percussion conversion longrifle. 36-1/4" octagon barrel of 9/16" width and about .42" bore. No markings apparent on lock or barrel. Metal parts have a light to dark patina overall with some pitting in the barrel breech area, front portion of triggerguard is absent, and front lock screw is absent. Stock has attractive striped grain with average wear and use overall, has a couple sliver missing front right forearm edge, a lateral crack on left side of forearm near muzzle associated with a missing sliver from ramrod channel, some worn chipping around the the lock and a replaced triangular piece at toe of butt. Interesting checkered cheek piece. A tin plate was applied to the bottom of the forearm during the period of use, probably because the wood was wearing through. Hammer cocks fully but does not have half cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
