R. Ashmore & Son, as marked on locks, side-by-side "buck and ball" gun. Both barrels are heavy, with a smooth left barrel of .54 caliber bore and a rifled right barrel drilled for a false muzzle of .34 caliber bore. 34" barrels. Nicely german silver mounted with shaped ovoid patchbox in right side of butt and dog inlay opposite. Locks and barrels have a medium gray patina with some light pitting. Walnut stock shows light wear and use with some cracks in the area of the front of the triggerguard that shows some movement. Ramrod has a ball puller on one end and appears to be broken off and used that way at the other end. Left nipple is absent. Both hammers cock, hold, and release, but neither has half cock apparent. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
