Remington M1879 Argentine rolling block military rifle. 36" round barrel with octagon breech. .43 caliber. Adapted for sabre bayonet. Finely stamped Remington three line marking on frame tang. Metal surfaces have strong blue finished surfaces from arsenal refurbishment. Stock shows little use after refinish, has a few scattered handling marks and a small possible crack in the left side of the forearm by the frame. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
