Springfield M1866 .50-70 "Second Allin" conversion rifle. Standard configuration with lock dated 1863. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some pitting present on the buttplate. Stock has three inspector cartouches opposite the lock. Wood has been lightly sanded to a smooth, attractive appearance with some scattered moderate handling marks remaining and some minor worn nicks to the cleaning rod channel, but still retains well-defined edges around the lock, etc. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
