Springfield M1866 .50-70 "Second Allin" conversion rifle. Scarce gun altered to 2-band cadet configuration at Springfield Armory with 36" barrel and middle band relocated, as described in Flayderman 9A-357. Metal parts are well-marked and untouched with a light storage rust overall. Sling swivels are absent. Stock has been sanded to a smooth, attractive appearance with some scattered moderate handling marks remaining. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
