Springfield M1866 "Second Allin" .50-70 "trapdoor" rifle. Dated 1866 on breechblock and 1864 on lock. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some scattered pitting. Stock has some dry age cracking to the butt and a replaced piece of wood on the left half of the stock that extends from the rear lock screw forward to the lower barrel band. Mechanically good except does not have spring in breech latch, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
