Springfield M1867 Rolling Block Navy cadet rifle. Scarce, only 498 produced, Flayderman 5E-084. Shares many parts with the equally scarce M1867 Springfield trapdoor cadet. Remington 2-line marking on tang, anchor marking on left side of frame, inspector marking "P" over "FCW" on right side of frame. Metal parts have smooth surfaces with a pleasing medium patina overall. Buttplate has "US" marking with rack markings "G" and "466" underneath, showing some light granular pitting. Screw in left side of frame is a replacement. Stock shows average wear and use with scattered handling marks, some light chipping to the cleaning rod channel, a crack at the rear of the upper frame tang, a small crack to left of barrel tang, and a small piece replaced to the right. Marking "A" over "46" present in right side of butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
